I am so thankful for my family! Today we went over to my sisters house to celebrate my niece/Goddaughters 19th Birthday and my daughter turns 15 on Monday. I was so tired I fell asleep right after I filled my belly with chili because I started my new job today and was up at 3am…when I got home I threw up and had to lay back down but all I could think about was all the love in that house and how fast children grow up, afterall it seems like just yesterday when I myself was turning 15 and at 19 was pregnant with my now 17 year old son. I thank God for my family, my sobriety, and for the love that surrounds us each day as we go our separate ways!

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back,

a roof overhead and a place to sleep… you are richer than
75% of this world.

f you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare
change in a dish someplace… you are among the top 8% of
the world’s wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than
illness… you are more blessed than the million who will
not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the
loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the
pangs of starvation… you are ahead of 500 million people
in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of
harassment, arrest, torture, or death… you are more
blessed than three billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married… you
are very rare, even in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are
truly thankful… you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them or even touch them
on the shoulder… you are blessed because you can offer
healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a double
blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and
furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion
people in the world that cannot read at all.

Have a good day, COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS, and
pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

Happy Birthday Girls!

Since the loss of you
I’ve learned to live for each day
And take it as a blessing
Knowing it may not always be this way.

Since the loss of you
I’ve learned that when everything goes wrong
To never give up on what is right
Because it can only make you strong.

Since the loss of you
I’ve learned that even when you’re in a lot of pain
You’ve got to hold yourself together
So you won’t feel like you’re going insane.

Since the loss of you
I’ve learned how to hold the tears when I want to cry
Because all I have is memories
And just want to ask God why.

But mostly, since the loss of you
I’ve learned a life can be taken in the blink of an eye
And only Heaven really knows when
That person will have to say “Goodbye.”

Tomorrow You Will Be Gone

~~By Amanda Rose Condry 2/4/95~~

Here I am, by your side

holding you while we cry

Yesterday has come and gone,

yet our lives must go on.

It’s still you, in my dreams

where nothing is what it seems

When I wake and see you near

I can dry my uncried tears.

I know tomorrow you will leave

this heart of mine wont be deceived.

It’s be wrong of me to make you stay,

although my heart will rip away.

So I’ll absorb the sun, while it shines

and love you with an open mind…

God Given Tools of Survival

Do you ever feel a desperate need to crawl into bed and sleep the day away, even when you havent missed a dose of your anti-depressants, which many Americans are put on by their doctors instead of ever fixing the underlying problem instead… I have noticed that our bodies are very resilient and more in control of ‘the human condition’ than we are aware of, Sleep brings us a sort of peace that is sometimes impossible to find while awake  with a mind thats racing and hearts breaking into a million pieces, just like the numbness that sets in after a trauma, we as humans have a way of subconsciously taking care of ourselves even when on the outside it feels as if we have no idea what the hell we are supposed to be doing! So I say if you need to nap once in awhile to quietly process what life throws your way, grab your wubby, close your eyes and thank God for the built in tools he gave us, to survive this journey and make it thru another day!

Chicken Pox Vaccine is Bogus or was for us!

Good Morning and Happy Monday to all! Fall has finally arrived here in Iowa and it’s so refreshing to wake up to the brisk cool air! I’m a hoodie girl and love this time of year!
My 17 year old finally returned to school today after being out for a week with the chicken pox. Yes you read that correctly he had the pox in spite of receiving the immunization as a baby. This is my child who refuses to use public restrooms because he thinks they are full of germs and diseases that you catch just by walking into them. He also of course thinks bathes are like brewing in a pool of your own filth. So last week was very long for us both and oatmeal baths were out of the question! I am a picker and love to pop zits so had to resist holding him down (which would be impossible anyhow being he is bigger than me already) and popping them or playing connect the dots and I spy as they literally appeared in front of my eyes. Poor kid told me he even had them on his ‘ball sack’ which was defined too much information for a mother to hear! Anyhow life is finally getting back to a sense of normal and I am a happy camper once again! Has anyone else had their children get the pox in spite of the vaccination?
